KRISTI LOPEZ, MD


A true local girl from Pearl City who earned her medical degree from the University of Hawai'i, Dr. Kristi Lopez draws on her island roots and professional training to provide specialized care as one of a few women Gastroenterologists in Hawai'i. After three years of residency, serving as the Chief Medical Resident, three years of fellowship training, and three years of clinical practice, she performs various procedures, like colonoscopy and endoscopy.

Dr. Lopez, a busy mom of two, has special interests in digestive health issues; colon cancer prevention (the second leading cancer-related cause of death in the U.S) and heartburn's link to esophageal cancer. She is noticing an unusually high rate of women with Barrett's esophagus and emphasizes early detection. Dr. Lopez has completely transformed the trajectory of her health and has become a health coach. She is passionate about helping others on their health journey as they strive to achieve their goals!

JENNIFER TAMAI, MD


Dr. Jennifer Tamai, born and raised in Honolulu and a Punahou School alum, holds a medical degree from the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine. Board Certified in Gastroenterology, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at LAC + USC Medical Center and her Gastroenterology fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Committed to exceptional care for her Hawai'i community, her expertise includes colon cancer screening, prevention, esophageal and stomach disorders, and various gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Tamai specializes in performing procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and polyp detection and removal.

Her commitment extends to treating each patient with the utmost care and respect, much like they are a cherished part of her own 'ohana (family). Dr. Tamai draws inspiration from her loving family and is profoundly grateful for their support, values she aims to carry into her medical practice. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling, spending time with family, and trying new foods.





REECE GOO, PA-C


Reece Goo was born in Wailuku, Maui and raised in Kane'ohe, O'ahu. After graduating from 'Iolani School, he would later move to Washington state to complete his degree in Psychology from Seattle University. Eventually, he would move across the United States to attend Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY where he completed his degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He developed a special interest in Gastroenterology after his grandfather and uncle passed away from colon cancer. Because of this, he encourages all patients ages 45+ to complete their colon cancer screening.

Reece is excited to have moved back home to Hawai'i and to treat, care for, and support patients. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.





ROZANNE SCHIRMER, APRN


Roze grew up in Waipahu and graduated from Waipahu High School. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Roze has a passion for the GI specialty as her father passed from colon cancer. Roze believes in educating patients, and empowering patients and families to make the best decisions for their health.

Roze is a proud mother of two boys, enjoys spending time with family, and traveling.





DONITA VALDEZ, APRN


Donita grew up in Kalihi and is a graduate of Farrington High School. She attended Mount St Mary's College in California and received her Bachelor's degree in biology. She then returned home to Hawai'i and received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and graduate degree in Nursing from UH Manoa with an emphasis in adult and geriatric medicine. Donita takes pride in patient care and believes that a good provider-patient care relationship is essential in providing the best care for all patients.

In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cats as she is an animal lover, trying new foods, and watching Christmas movies.
