
KRISTI LOPEZ, MD
A true local girl from Pearl City who earned her medical degree from the University of Hawaiʻi, Dr. Kristi Lopez draws on her island roots and professional training to provide specialized care as one of a few women Gastroenterologists in Hawaiʻi. After three years of residency, serving as the Chief Medical Resident, three years of fellowship training, and three years of clinical practice, she performs various procedures, like colonoscopy and endoscopy.
Dr. Lopez, a busy mom of two, has special interests in digestive health issues; colon cancer prevention (the second leading cancer-related cause of death in the U.S) and heartburn’s link to esophageal cancer. She is noticing an unusually high rate of women with Barrett’s esophagus and emphasizes early detection. Dr. Lopez has completely transformed the trajectory of her health and has become a health coach. She is passionate about helping others on their health journey as they strive to achieve their goals!
